Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about how Cold Shields protects your inbox — how it works, what it costs, and how your data is handled.

Privacy & Security

3 Questions

01 Does Cold Shields read my emails?

Cold Shields only analyzes sender and message metadata (subject line, sender address, and basic content signals) needed to detect cold sales outreach. It does not store the full content of your emails, and it never shares your inbox data with third parties.

02 Is my data shared with third parties?

No. Cold Shields does not sell or share your email data with advertisers or outside companies. Detection happens to protect your inbox, not to build a profile of you for marketing purposes.

03 How does Cold Shields access my Gmail account?

Cold Shields connects through Google’s official OAuth authorization flow — the same secure sign-in method used by other trusted Gmail extensions. You can revoke access at any time from your Google Account security settings.

How It Works

4 Questions

01 How does Cold Shields detect sales pitches?

Cold Shields looks for patterns common to unsolicited outreach — generic templated language, mass-sending tool signatures, and sender behavior — rather than simply blocking unknown senders.

02 Will it ever block real clients?

Cold Shields is built specifically to avoid this. It targets patterns unique to cold outreach, so replies to threads you started and messages from real contacts are left untouched.

03 What happens to blocked emails?

Detected cold sales emails are automatically moved into a dedicated “Detected Sales Emails” folder, so nothing is ever permanently lost and you can review them at any time.

04 Does it work in real time?

Yes. Cold Shields scans incoming mail as it arrives, so cold pitches are filtered out of your primary inbox automatically.
